A third of businesses need mobile apps for survive
we couldn’t get by without mobile apps said by a third of small businesses. It means there would be great challenge to survive without mobile apps, says a new survey. The study found that more than 72% of small businesses used mobile apps in their operations. Top on the list of app uses was GPS and mapping, with nearly half of companies using them. A distant second: a tie between social media marketing and document management, with 26% of firms apiece. Some of the other popular apps: location based services with 24%, time management with 23%, travel and expense tracking with 22% and mobile credit card payments with 20%.
The biggest reason for using mobile apps : saving time, said 62% of those polled and 29% said cost – saving.
Other survey findings: Small businesses with Facebook pages jumped to 41 percent, from 27 percent in 2009. More than a third of those polled said social media was good for business, with 37 percent saying Facebook et al increased traffic to their company websites.
Analysis: So from here we can say that for small businesses mobile phone apps are really important. it can be helpful for their customer to saving time, getting information, offers etc. most of the people who uses facebook or other social networking sites mostly use from there mobile phone so its also important for the small businesses with facebook pages. And it is very good way to keep in touch with the customer. In today's world most of the people who looks for something (goods or services) they use their mobile phone on the way because its most of the time with them and easy to use. So from all of these surveys and analysis we can say a third of small businesses need mobile apps to survive.
